About this content

Financial Literacy for Women is a foundational course designed to support justice-involved women as they prepare for reentry and long-term financial stability. The course builds practical money skills to help participants make informed financial decisions, reduce stress, and create pathways toward independence for themselves and their families.

Participants will explore real-life topics such as financial decision-making, income and employment, budgeting, banking, saving, credit, debt, financial safety, and reentry planning. Lessons are written in clear, accessible language and are designed to meet women where they are, recognizing the unique financial challenges many women face during and after incarceration.

This course aligns with the U.S. Personal Finance Certification Examination and is intended to prepare participants who wish to pursue this nationally available, industry-endorsed certification after release. Certification exams are completed separately and are not administered through this platform.
