Developed collaboratively by incarcerated individuals, educators, and volunteers, the GOGI (Getting Out by Going In) Life Tools offer a practical framework for making positive, transformative decisions in everyday life. The system equips individuals with accessible strategies for emotional regulation and cognitive reframing, utilizing simple techniques like belly breathing, habit-breaking "lightswitches," and filtering thoughts, words, and actions through the lenses of being powerful, productive, and positive. By encouraging personal accountability, mindful distance from harm, and a service-oriented mindset, these tools empower participants to break old patterns, overcome their pasts, and achieve true internal freedom regardless of their circumstances.
