About this content

The ACA Big Red Book is the main book for the ACA program which is a 12 step program for adults who grew up in homes where alcohol, drugs, violence, or neglect were common. Many people in prison recognize these experiences. The book explains how growing up this way can affect thoughts, feelings, and choices later in life. It shares real stories and simple tools for helping people not react when they are upset or triggered. You do not need special education or prior knowledge to read it. You can read at your own pace and take what helps you.

For this recovering alcoholic and many others addicts of various types, the book answered questions that we had struggled with our entire lives.
